How Healthcare Employers Can Benefit from using Recruitment Landing Pages to Increase Temporary Workforce Applications during Covid-19

With the majority of UK healthcare employers looking to boost their temporary workforce capacity during the Covid-19 pandemic, the quickest and easiest way to get their job vacancies advertised is online.

However, if you’re an NHS Trust, then most likely your relying on NHS Jobs, the official job board of the National Health Service to advertise your jobs online.

With around 25,000 posts advertised on NHS Jobs each month and even more now with the outbreak of Covid-19, it comes as a surprise to most that the website is not optimised for mobile devices – try it yourself using your mobile phone, click here

Unfortunately for NHS Trusts and other non-NHS employers that rely on the NHS Jobs, the website is not currently optimised for mobile devices, meaning that badly needed staff are required to pinch and scroll their screens just to read the text on their phones. Equally, if a Trust’s career website is not mobile optimised, candidates will also encounter the same issue.

Beyond not being mobile responsive, the lengthy application process currently in place should be up-ended with a simple expression of interest form via a branded recruitment landing page.

Not having a mobile optimised recruitment website is not the end of the world and it will not prevent  candidates from applying for your jobs, it will slow down the process especially for first time users of the website

According to Indeed’s Nursing Market Insights, August 2019, 65% of Nurses searched for a job using a mobile device and the use of websites that are not responsive to mobile devices can result in what is called candidate abandonment, which is similar to cart abandonment in online shopping.

For employers considering options to target their local recruitment market for temporary clinical or non-clinical workers, a branded recruitment campaign landing page such as the South East Coast Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust is the most efficient method of capturing initial expressions of interest, that can be then followed up with a more formal application.

At HST, our in-house design team are on hand to create employer branded recruitment campaign websites that can be ready within hours and can help you to capture large quantities of candidate applications via an expression of interest form, rather than length applications forms.
